The important tasks of enterprises’ investment activities are investigated in the article.  The basic provisions for the further study of management processes are substantiated. An important task of enterprises’ investment activities is to choose the most effective ways for investments in order to increase their competitive status, increase profitability and ensure further successful functioning. Matrix of interaction of markets, activities and enterprise assets is formed in the article. There are identified main features of machine-building enterprises strategic assets formation. It is shown that in the conditions of weak economic development, low purchasing power of legal entities and individuals, their low level of profitability, enterprises should give preferences to real investments, in particular, to ensure optimal selection of certain types of assets as investment objects, since the domestic financial services market requires significant improvement for creating opportunities to provide financial instruments of enterprises as financial investment services consumers. It is pointed out that assessment of enterprise investment activity opens new opportunities for domestic and foreign investments diversification. Trends in management development determine the direction of enterprise behavior in the field of research and development aimed at creating sufficient capacity to take into account changes in the external environment and the achievement of long-term goals, as well as the effective implementation of the enterprise investment strategy. At the same time, the tendency of the investment activity management system development should not only be consistent with the strategy of the enterprise' development but also to be its basic during some periods (for example, in the conditions of depression and crisis).
