Abstract:	The basic approaches to the concept of social trust are described in the article. The process of building trust in the state authority through the prism of basic scientific visions is analyzed, the leading mechanisms of social governance are identified. It is established that the awareness of the social trust importance for the functioning of society directed the logic of the scientific thought development from the theoretical phenomenon of social trust in general to the search of practical management mechanisms of trust as a social resource. The main purpose of the article is to identify the mechanisms of social governance in order to build social trust in government bodies. Taking into account the aim there are described the main achievements and directions of research on the phenomenon of trust. The necessity of interpreting trust as a social category is justified. The interdependence between trust and social governance is described. The understanding of trust in the sense of social resource is revealed. The main experience of empirical measurement of trust in Ukraine is outlined. The authors suggest the basic social management mechanisms of the social resource of trust on the example of Ukrainian society, namely: conducting sociological measurement of trust in public authorities, reproducing the criteria of trust, informing the society and introducing control instruments. The necessity to distinguish constructive and destructive forms of social management mechanisms, as well as the features by which they are determined is proved. The revealed mechanisms of social management of social trust are further suggested to be taken into account in theoretical developments, empirical research and practical activity of public authorities.
