Abstract	The features of the origin and historical transformation of the definitions “social justice” and “social welfare” have been considered in the article. The main approaches and concepts of the interpretation of social justice are described. The sociological survey data concerning the understanding of social justice the population of Ukraine has been given. An analysis of the main macroeconomic indicators of Ukraine and the world has been carried out. Some of them are: GDP growth, government debt, price level, the minimum salary and living wage level, purchasing power of the population, unemployment level, labour migration, working day hours, and life expectancy and population growth. The main trends in the development of national production focusing on the export of raw materials and components, but not finished products, are considered. The hidden current policy problems of subsidizing the population of Ukraine have been revealed. The main reasons for the deterioration of the main macroeconomic indicators of Ukraine are considered and their negative impact on the level of social protection in the country is revealed. The existence of relationship and interdependence between the level of social development and the peculiarities of national economic development is proved. The direct influence of ineffective social policy on the national economic development has been shown. A series of measures in the social and economic spheres aimed at creating social justice in the country and ensuring a stable longterm development of the national economy of Ukraine are proposed.
